BenQ AH30ST 1080p Short Throw Golf Simulator Projector

The BenQ AH30ST is an affordable, purpose-built golf simulator projector designed for customers who want excellent image quality, simple installation, and true golf-specific features without stepping into a higher-priced laser model.

With 3,000 ANSI lumens, Full HD 1080p resolution, a 0.69–0.83 short-throw ratio, and BenQ’s dedicated Golf Mode, the AH30ST delivers a sharp, colorful simulator image while keeping projector placement safe and flexible.

For dedicated home golf simulator rooms with good lighting control, the AH30ST offers an excellent balance of performance and value.

Designed for Golf Simulation

The AH30ST is built specifically with golf simulator rooms in mind.

BenQ’s dedicated Golf Mode is designed to reproduce the natural colors found throughout a golf course, helping fairways, greens, rough, bunkers, trees, and terrain appear more realistic and immersive.

With 95% Rec.709 color coverage, the AH30ST also delivers impressive color accuracy for a projector at this price point, making it equally capable for simulator use, movies, and sports.

Short Throw for Safer Projector Placement

The AH30ST features a 0.69–0.83 throw ratio, allowing it to create a large image from a relatively short mounting distance.

This helps position the projector safely behind the golfer while minimizing shadows and keeping the projector away from both the swing path and potential pop-up shots.

Its 102.5% projection offset is also particularly useful in rooms with lower ceilings because the projector can remain more level instead of requiring excessive tilt and digital keystone correction.

Flexible 1.2x Optical Zoom

Unlike many entry-level short-throw projectors, the AH30ST includes 1.2x optical zoom.

This gives you more flexibility when determining projector mounting distance and screen size, making installation easier when ceiling joists, launch monitors, lighting, or other room features limit the ideal mounting position.

Screen Fill for Custom Golf Simulator Screens

Golf simulator screens often use aspect ratios other than standard 16:9.

The AH30ST includes BenQ’s Screen Fill function with support for:

• 16:9

• 16:10

• 4:3

• 1:1

This makes it easier to take advantage of more of your impact screen when working with custom simulator dimensions.

Easy Image Adjustment

The AH30ST includes useful installation tools that make image alignment straightforward.

Features include:

• 2D Keystone Correction

• Automatic Vertical Keystone

• Horizontal Keystone

• 1.2x Optical Zoom

• Screen Fill

These features make it easier to achieve a properly aligned image without requiring a highly complicated installation.

Golf Simulator by Day. Entertainment Space by Night.

The AH30ST isn't limited to golf.

With 1080p Full HD resolution, 95% Rec.709 color coverage, Cinema Mode, and responsive gaming performance, it also works well for:

• Golf simulation

• Movies

• Sports

• Streaming

• Console gaming

• PC gaming

BenQ rates the AH30ST at 16.7ms input lag at 1080p / 60Hz, providing responsive performance for both golf simulation and casual gaming.

Long-Life 4LED Light Source

Instead of a traditional replaceable projector lamp, the AH30ST uses a 4LED light source rated for up to 20,000 hours in Normal mode and 30,000 hours in ECO mode.

That provides years of low-maintenance use without the lamp replacements associated with older projector designs.

Pixel Golf Recommendation

The AH30ST is an excellent choice for customers building a golf simulator on a tighter budget who still want a projector designed specifically for golf simulation.

Its combination of 3,000 lumens, Full HD resolution, 95% Rec.709 color coverage, Golf Mode, Screen Fill, and a flexible 0.69–0.83 throw ratio gives it many of the features that matter most in a dedicated home simulator.

Compared with the AH700ST, the AH30ST gives up some brightness and premium installation features, but retains excellent color performance and the same general short-throw range. That makes it especially attractive for light-controlled simulator rooms where maximum brightness isn't necessary.

For customers who want more brightness, motorized installation features, or a laser light source, the AH700ST is the natural step up. But for a dedicated home simulator where budget and value are priorities, the AH30ST is a very compelling option.
